Previewing an interchange project

Run python3 skills/ltp-project/scripts/preview_dashboard.py path/to/project.ltp.yaml from the Reason Commons repository. The command starts a local server on 127.0.0.1:8765, opens the dashboard in a browser, and stops when you press Ctrl+C. Pass --port 9000 to select another port or --no-open to print the URL without opening a browser. To export a self-contained HTML file and open it, add --export-html; the output defaults beside the YAML as <project-name>.dashboard-preview.html. Pass a path after --export-html to choose another output location. When no YAML path is supplied, the command chooses the most recently modified non-fixture *.ltp.yaml in this repository. PyYAML is required; install it with python3 -m pip install pyyaml if needed.

The preview converts the interchange file into a temporary dashboard model and serves it alongside the existing dashboard interface. It does not change the source YAML, write files into the repository, or import anything into a space. It is for inspecting the six trees and their evidence in the dashboard layout, not for editing or validating an import; to validate an import, attach the file in the Reason Commons app.

LTP previews open the Current Reality view with all of its entities expanded, so its explicit causal links and any cycles are visible at once. The graph lays out cycles as a readable directed graph; it does not resolve or imply causation. Entities without a relationship in the source remain disconnected.

The dashboard's older model format cannot represent every part of the interchange format. The preview carries entity statements, designations, statuses, confidence, reasoning, evidence, assumptions, and within-tree relationships where the dashboard has a corresponding field. If status or confidence is absent, the preview labels the entity provisional and low confidence so the dashboard's default filters show it; these are display defaults, not claims in the source. A multi-source relationship is drawn as one edge per source to make it visible. Assessments, relationship logic modes, cross-tree relationships, change history, and other app-only data are omitted from the preview. Those omissions do not affect the source file.
